South East London – June 17, 2016 – Traveling as a child, Mavis soon grew to have a grand appreciation for music that came from all over the globe. Whether it was the traditions sprung from gospel or the native tongue of Africa – she found beauty in every note that came her way. Her travels mixed with her appreciation artists that reigned supreme in her day like the Beatles and Lionel Richie granted her a signature sound that today makes her a unique commodity. Soul runs through her, but Mavis’ latest single “Thanking You,” would and could be played alongside many a folk song.
Studying Business Law in college, it didn’t really shock those who knew her when she kept the music flowing. She had grown up singing in the school choir and at church, and even though she was majoring in a buttoned-up major, she was still as creative as ever when it came to her musical side. The love she has for singing translates into all that she does, whether it’s raising her three kids or penning and recording her single, “Thanking You.” Mavis believes love is the most powerful force on this great earth and that it must be celebrated at all times. She notes, “Love is hope, patient and endures all things.” Again, most of her music can be classified as soul but this latest single has taken her down a whole new road – opening her up to a new audience. All are welcomed to enjoy the sounds this loveable artist creates. Those interested in Mavis can check her and “ Thanking You,” out online. About: Mavis is a mother of three, a business law degree holder and a soul singer who has created a new sound for herself with her latest single, “Thanking You.” A song that could introduce her to the folk realm, “Thanking You” is all about love, and celebrating it.
