With his original new single ‘Cross Fire’ rapidly climbing the charts, Black Ice and his unique brand of well-honed reggae is rapidly becoming a musical success story thanks in large part to his impeccable melodic instincts. Like reggae? Many do, perhaps in yearning for a return to great musicianship and melody. Here is an artist that ably serves the sentiment. Originating from Fremont, California, Black Ice has quickly risen on the strength of his new award-winning single ‘Cross Fire’. Recently, the critics had this to say about his work: ‘Black Ice exhibit that rare formulation of talent and charm which makes for unfeignably honest art - 'Cross Fire' will disarm anyone caught it its melodic wake.’ With his new single steadily climbing the charts, Black Ice seems destined for the global limelight. Reporter Lauren Thompson recently caught up with the talented artist to learn more about what inspires him to create his unique brand of reggae music and what we can expect from Black Ice in the near future. LAUREN: When did your recording career begin? What inspired you to first make music? BLACK ICE: From my very first recording back in 1999, first single “Enemies” featuring Rootsman (Yard Groove Records) My inspiration comes from a higher calling: ‘Music is life’ LAUREN: Your new single ’Cross Fire’ is currently getting a great response on radio. How would you describe your new single? BLACK ICE: Blackice “Cross Fire” shows how easy it is to get caught up into situations that are not in our controls. Each day we live our life’s not knowing what the next second minute or hour will unfold. Musically “Cross Fire” touch the surface of such situations, as simply as it may seems no one is immune to the “Cross Fire.” So please do your best to not get caught up in the “Cross Fire.” LAUREN: How do you feel your music has changed this past year? BLACK ICE: It has evolved! Leading to new growth and opportunities. LAUREN: What is your creative process when it comes to songwriting? BLACK ICE: Let the music and the message takes me there!!! Shine LAUREN: During this creative process, do you feel you work better alone or in a team? BLACK ICE: Both! But ideally working alone is better for me. I get more transformed into the art form (Musically) LAUREN: How do you feel about the Internet in the music business?
BLACK ICE: It’s a vital tool! Which helps Independent Artist like Blackice to have a far greater reach. LAUREN: What is the best compliment you've ever received? BLACK ICE: Fans telling me how much my songs touched them! ‘Just the words they needed to hear’ Very appreciative and uplifting LAUREN: If you had an extra two hours every day, how would you spend it? BLACK ICE: Meditate and Pray!!! LAUREN: If you could sit down with one of your favorite artists, who would it be and what would you ask them? BLACK ICE: The legendary Bob Marley! Who did the cap fit? LAUREN: In your opinion, which decade do you think produced some of the best music to date? BLACK ICE: The 70”s (So Revolutionary) Love the pure essence and form of the music. LAUREN: When you are working on a new song, who is the first person you share it with? BLACK ICE: Mainly love ones! And also fellow artists No one in particular. LAUREN: Is there new material in the works and when will fans get to hear it? BLACK ICE: Yes! New materials are always happening. Continuously sharing with fans and love ones on social media!!! Staying current releases shortly follows. LAUREN: Can't wait to hear everything! Thank you for sharing more about your life with me. I wish you continued success in the future.

Inspired by the music of Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Bon Iver, Conor Oberst, Marillion, Peter Gabriel, U2, Daniel Lanois and may others Rio Glacier makes its own sound. Emotional deepness in music and lyric are the "rote Faden" through their work. Born in the winter of 2018, Rio Glacier began its journey into the unknown. As a result of the first tentative steps the single Ballerina appeared. A song written for Van’s oldest daughter who was on the verge of following her own path. One ear later, single N°2 The Evening Is A Robber and N°3 Drive followed the first one. The steps became more certain, safer, more confident. In the summer of 2019, RG released its first album Out Of Tune, an EP containing five songs about the dichotomy of life, not about Good and Bad, Black or White but about the things in between. Fascinating things. Things which the concrete heads of this world would love to drown. Currently, RG is recording its next album which is to appear at the end of 2019. For this purpose, Van Vogt, head and founder of RG, has retired to a secluded cabin in the alps to concentrate on writing his new songs. What has emerged from it we will find out Christmas 2019!
