Reclusive singer-songwriter Robert Hunter is poised to release his second EP recorded and produced in Nashville TN, in the span of less than a year.
And now please read an important note from Robert: AFTERGLOW is the name of my new EP coming out February 24. This record means a lot to me. I lost my mind more than once writing it. This was always the excuse…one more line…one more song…one more trip to Tennessee – to quiet this need that follows me everywhere – to finish what I started, when I started writing songs such a long time ago. Oh yes, Afterglow. There is no better way to describe the feeling. Since finishing the record, I found out that the one person who believed in me the most, as the music thing was getting going, Becky; my best friend; my chaperone in Nashville; ‘Annie’ in all my songs, and the sweetest girl I know – has cancer. I thought hard about cancelling the release, but she wouldn’t have it. “Not when we’ve come so far.” Ok Becky. So I want you to know now: this means war. Afterglow isn’t just a record, it’s the last thing we finished together- in the face of all the odds against it - before cancer became a part of our daily vocabulary. And she loves the way it turned out :) Now I know that the odds don’t mean a thing. She used to tell me that every time I wanted to quit. “What matters,” she’d say, “is that we’re in this together, and trust me, we’re going to make it.” Becky is the driving force behind all my songs, and the person that I am. She’s my Afterglow. It’s all intertwined. And if sharing this with the world makes her happy, then that is what I’m going to do. She is bold, tenacious, faithful, caring, courageous and kind. And I am humbled to be in her service. And so now it’s war against cancer. And it’s war against the odds, apathy and despair – just as it’s always been. No I won’t care what the critics will have to say this time. Because we’re in this together, and that’s all that matters. The line is drawn, and we’re going to make it. And I know that if you’ll join, follow, share, send cards, or do anything you can, as I do my best, to give back all the strength she’s given, we’re going to win this one, for Becky. Follow Becky on Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/rebecca.cunfer Send cards to 514 N. Chestnut St, Millville PA 17846. Buy Afterglow in stores, and online Feb 24. Presale begins Jan 6 on iTunes. www.roberthuntermusic.net

A new song called "Mitch the Motorman" by CW and the Motormen hits a chord with the oilpatch. In a survey of listeners conducted by Tunecore, a former rig worker says, "I really like the upbeat tone...I also enjoy the story...I relate to it because I used to work on the rigs." Oil and gas publication The Surge says, "Catchy oilfield songs don't get much better than Mitch the Motorman. Here’s a feel good song everyone who has ever worked in the oilfield will love! Mitch the Motorman for President!"http://thesurge.com/stories/catchy-oilfield-songs-dont-get-much-better-mitch-motorman Songwriter CW Edge says he wrote the song about a real rig worker now living in Calgary, Alberta. "The song is about a rig-hand that meets his dream girl...or does he? You will have to listen to the song to find out," says Edge. "There aren't many songs about the oilpatch, so this was overdue in the music industry." What he likes most about the song is that it has a strong following among women. "RadioAirplay domographics show it has a slightly stronger following among women than guys," says Edge. "I think the song reveals women have the ability to spot the redeeming quality in guys, even if it's not readily apparent." Other comments from the TuneCore survey are: "It is a romantic story of a home town boy meeting a pretty girl, and has a sexual feeling to the song." "The song is wonderful and I want to hear it again." "This should definitely be on the radio." "Fantastic country song that I absolutely loved! I really enjoyed the lyrics which were well-written and very meaningful. Some of the best country music I have had the privilege to listen to." CW Edge writes the songs and assembles studio musicians, which he calls the Motormen. "It's not a lot different than the rigs," says Edge. "The motormen may change but the rig has to keep on drillin." Mitch the Motorman goes on sale on Amazon and iTunes Dec 8, 2016. https://www.amazon.com/Mitch-the-Motorman/dp/B01MXN6NUU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481082318&sr=8-1&keywords=Mitch+the+Motorman More info on songs to be released at www.mitchthemotorman.com Multi-genre producer Yarley G who has produced tracks for a number of television shows releases the first video, Super Alo Fragilistic off of his upcoming music project. It's a song that carries a very positive message that everyone is "Amazing" in their own way. The video starts off with an acoustic performance with vocals by Gio accompanied by a warm piano and classical strings, then suddenly hits a spin with an EDM vibe over the famous 'talkbox' vocal instrument, which has been used on #1 songs by J Cole and Bruno Mars.
You might not know his name but you have probably heard his music on your favorite television shows. With credits that include most recently placements on CBS’ hit show Hawaii Five 0 Yarley G has been producing music that has been setting the atmosphere for many of the most memorable moments on tv shows. But now, Yarley has decided to enter the consumer music world to reach fans of his music directly. “Writing music for shows is wonderful. You get to help paint the scene for show, but ultimately the feeling, the mood, what a person sees is created and almost dictated through the show’s director’s eyes or vision. I always wanted to see what people would get from my music without the filter of TV. If it was just given to them or I had more control of the visual." Super Alo Fragilistic is the first video from Yarley’s upcoming project that will have him working with various artists over his production. Super Alo Fragilistic is a genre melding track that hits a "feeling amazing" vibe that’s perfect for this time of the year. Earlier this year he released the track "Ghost Type" with Zig Short from the project. Missouri based rock collective Decadent Nation released a music video for their politically charged, new single My Kind. “They’ve released the xenophobes” lead vocalist Colin LaVaute sings as stark footage of America under the threat of Trump, is projected onto the band while they rip through the tune. The song itself amounts to be a stylistic crossbreed of Queens of the Stone Age and The Hives.
“DN has always been a socio-politically charged band,” says LaVaute. “We are living in arduous times. Just look at the rise in aggression towards minorities since the election. Though we wrote this song early in the year, it speaks more to what we are about to go through, as a country.” The video is reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine’s Testify video, using footage from famous recent events ranging from Trump rallies to the protests in Ferguson, Missouri. The band is no stranger to political demonstrations, after having performed guerilla concerts during the rise of the Occupy movement. Decadent Nation has no plans to release an album at this time, but if My Kind is any indication the band is feeling as inspired as ever. The song is available to stream on Spotify and can be purchased via iTunes.
Listening to The Como Brothers music you can hear their love of the blues, pop music, and rock n' roll. Matt and Andrew Como grew up performing in a Beatles tribute band with their dad and uncle across Long Island and have now proved their own chops as accomplished singer-songwriters-musicians.
At live shows, they are able to demonstrate their music mastery as well as their ease at expressing their feelings - most notably about relationships. They craft multi-layered, intricate songs that appeal to discerning ears while also being catchy to attract the masses (not easy to do, btw). Their music mixes such distinct genres as pop, rock and blues. The songs tackle life's most relatable and heartfelt personal struggles while being infectious, catchy and delivered from the soul.
The Texas Alternative Rock band, Ok Robot, have self-released their latest debut LP "What's Your Reason for Existing?" Ok Robot has spent the past two years in the studio making this record with producer Larry Lozano of NoonDay Studios.
Ok Robot came to life in 2009 and have established themselves in the South Texas scene. Each of their members bring different influences but share the same passion and explode with energy on stage. They have shared the stage with popular acts such as Kris Roe "The Ataris" and Tantric.
