Following an incredibly positive start to the year which has seen support for Blueprint Blue coming from regional and national media outlets across the UK and beyond, the band launch their Americana inspired single 'Bad Dreams' taken from their new EP 'Flying Machine, released on London's Luv Luv Luv Records.
Blueprint Blue are ex SCUM members Huw Webb (bass) and and Melissa Rigby (drums) who are joined by Elliot Hayward on vocals and guitar. The band formed in 2013, when Webb and Rigby found a likeminded music fan in Hayward, the trio are bonded by a love of The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, and Jackson Browne. 2017 has seen their video for 'Good Dreams' premiered by Clash and featured by the likes of i-D and Huh Magazine. Latest single 'You and Me', a cover of a long forgotten 1970's Soul song by Penny and the Quarters, gained airplay from Jonathan Ross and Craig Charles on BBC Radio 2, Lauren Laverne and Chris Hawkins on BBC Radio 6 and Georgie Rodgers on Virgin Radio UK, along with support an extensive range of media outlets around the world. Having already been championed by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans and James Hoare of Ultimate Painting, as well as receiving UK and international airplay and coverage, the band played four shows at this year's SXSW music festival. A Pledge campaign to support their appearance at SXSW smashed its target, a testament to the rapid growth of the band's fan base. “One of the best 60s influenced groups in the country.” Gigwise "The slow, chugging tempo nods towards Americana, yet this is a low-rent, 21st century version. The production is sparse yet warm, allowing Blueprint Blue's songwriting plenty of space to grow, merge, and coalesce." Clash Music "Excellent guitaring here from London-based Americana act Blueprint Blue. Rumor has it that the last time they performed at London's Moth Club, the singer played a ten minute long guitar solo: something that is, on the one hand, obviously completely objectionable, but at the same time the coolest thing we've heard all year. Well done, that man." i-D "...marvellous concoctions; ranging from folk influences, to electric guitar harmonies and a looping blues rhythm that will set your heart alight." Snog Magazine "Blueprint Blue’s steady beat flows with a chilled sense. An ability to make the noise around you dissipate." Moshville

In early February 2014 Ryan Blake was playing guitar in a studio session and during one of the breaks the studio engineer began playing music from some past projects. It was during this time that Blake heard the vocals of Pat James for the first time and immediately contacted him to get together.
“I had known of Ryan Blake through the music scene, but Blake never knew that I was a musician as well. We talked about the band and what we were both looking to create and accomplish. Our goals and mind set completely matched up and we got started.” recalls Pat James. The two began writing songs which would later become the Devil’s Grin EP. While recording Devil’s Grin James and Blake were discussing the possible need for a female backing vocal on a couple of tracks and both simultaneously thought of mutual friend Jules Cardoso. “We brought her in for a couple songs, but she sounded so good singing with James that it was the obvious choice to have her on all of the tracks.” says Ryan. The Road Heavy quickly formed adding drummer Jeff Cox and Bassist Andre D’silva (BIG D) to the mix just before leaving on their first Canadian East Coast Tour with Gilby Clarke (Guns N Roses) The story is short and sweet. With their new self-titled EP, out February 18, 2017, they have been hard at work getting the new music ready for their fans and the whole experience has been extremely fulfilling. Working with producer Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) on this project and having his input and wisdom go into each song really helped the band to mature their sound. Their first single Human Condition, is about the mundane life most people live while they dream of what they would rather be doing but are too afraid to go after. The music video for Human Condition was produced by Aaron Alter Productions. The Road Heavy recently joined The Tea Party for 9 shows during their 20 Years of Transmission Canadian tour. They have been working hard to get this new music out to fans and are excited to finally be out on the road to share it with everyone. This deep musical legacy of the Bahamas might have forever remained a secret, shared only with visitors to this paradise, if not for the runaway global success of the Baha Men. In the summer of 2000, all eyes – and ears – turned to the string of pristine Caribbean islands as the Baha Men mixed the beloved junkanoo festival spirit with a relentlessly captivating chorus. “Who Let The Dogs Out” was irresistible. Undoubtedly the only pop anthem to ever feature a goat-skin goombay drum, the song immediately rose to the top of the charts throughout the world and became a sports stadium phenomenon as teams fought to call it their official battle cry.
The universal appeal of the song carried the sound of the Bahamas across the globe. Local officials called the Baha Men the nation’s greatest musical ambassadors. The band played in cities, in states and in countries where all language barriers disappeared the moment the beat of the goombay began. The Baha Men, thrilled as they watched the world discover their music, kept on doing what they’d be doing for the previous 20 years. They turned every concert into a junkanoo festival, rooted in pulsating island rhythms but with an uncanny ability to appeal to everyone. They were a band long before “Who Let The Dogs Out” and had no plans to change anything now. Even Rolling Stone magazine knew of the Baha Men’s enduring musical journey, declaring, “After 20 years, the Baha Men are an overnight success.”

This contrasts with the songs’ contemporary subjects, which wryly bemoan the state of the modern world.
Biscay thrive on this contrast - much like the part of the Atlantic from which they take their name, their music combines smooth sounds with the turbulence of 21st century urban life. Their debut, 6-track EP ‘Burnt Mementos’, due for release on Friday March 24th 2017, explores a range of topics from the flawed worship of good looks, the pointless pursuit of status, bad dates and worse relationships. The lyrics are semi-autobiographical. Biscay’s 6-strong line-up hail from London and Birmingham in the UK, remedying their post-Brexit gloom in 2016 by recruiting 21-year old, French lead singer, Eléa May. Originally from Montpellier, and now a London resident for two years, she is still coming to terms with the weather and the appalling cheese. The driving force behind Biscay is guitarist Phil Danter, who writes all the original music and lyrics, and pays for everything. Eléa and Phil are joined by drummer Ben Haines, keyboardist Kris Chase-Byrne, Bassist Rich Beardmore and Saxophonist Mikey Davis. Biscay’s primary objective in 2017 is to take themselves much, much more seriously. The six tracks on Burnt Mementos are all written by Phil (with the exception of the French rap lyrics on Your Cold Heart, penned by Eléa and Thomas Melograna). Phil’s songs have seen considerable past success, 4 of them winning categories in the Indie International, Hollywood and UK Songwriting Contests in 2014/5. Here’s the track-by-track guide for Burnt Mementos: 1. Pretty People – A light, poppy groove recalling Michael McDonald, which contrasts with the bitter polemic about the annoyingly good looking. 2. Your Cold Heart – This mixes up pop, prog riffs, Brian May guitar and French rap! The lyric conveys the raw anger of being dumped, which we’re sure feels the same in French or English. 3. Arromanches – Slowish blues with unconventional chord changes and a story contrasting the heroism of D-day soldiers to the lives of today’s lazy beachgoers. 4. Good Odds, Odd Goods – A retro Acid-Jazz groove combines with a thoroughly modern tale about men’s less than reliable dating profiles The next 2 tracks are on the released EP but not in the Music Submit package (available on request)! 5. Little Miss Kryptonite – A Steely-Danesque bluesy shuffle, with a dark tale of a woman so disappointed by men that her default mode becomes attack. 6. Space Dust – An old band favourite was the Dutch group Focus, which this recalls a little (with Hammond but without yodelling), whilst the lyrics espouse a mechanistic view of the universe. R&B hit-maker Daley has scored another home run with the release of "Until The Pain Is Gone" featuring Jill Scott. Following the March 24th release and Billboard audio premiere, the official music video has just premiered with BET! Beginning at 6AM EST, BET Soul & Centric TV are running the video every other hour, all throughout the day. You can check out the full video below!
"Until The Pain Is Gone" is from Daley's forthcoming full-length studio album entitled The Spectrum (BMG/The End), and available now for download & streaming.
Having made serious strides with their self-titled debut album, COASTS reveal a side we’ve not seen before on latest release ‘Paradise’, which is a slow-burning, glorious fusion of shimmering guitar and synth rounded off by Caines trademark vocals. The UK ‘trop-poppers’ music always echoes the sounds of summer and the video for ‘Paradise’ is the perfect backdrop to this showing the sun-drenched streets of London at their finest in a love story featuring frontman Caines - watch the video here.
Forming back in 2011 at Uni in Bristol, COASTS have established a huge fan-base that has seen the band sell-out rooms from New York to Berlin, as well as massive domestic homecomings, including an unforgettable night at Camden’s Roundhouse last year (Feb 2016). Having clocked up millions of streams and over 100,000 sales thanks to singles such as Modern Love, A Rush of Blood, You and Oceans - with the latter two making it onto BBC Radio 1’s B-list - COASTS career has taken them to the very top of the game, including appearances at major festivals such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Lollapalooza. With only a short break away from the scene, COASTS are set for a huge 2017 which will include extensive touring with a first chance to hear music from the forthcoming album. COASTS will play the following dates in 2017 - May 29th- Edinburgh, Scotland - The Bongo Club May 30th- Leeds, England- Belgrave Music Hall May 31st- Birmingham, England- 02 Institute 3 June 1st- Manchester, England - Sound Control June 3rd- Bristol, England- Thekla June 5th- London, England- 02 Forum Up and coming pop talent Lynn is preparing the release of her 2nd single “Rise High” due out in March 2017. The track is taken from her upcoming EP which is expected later this year.
Singing from the moment she can remember, Lynn was gracing stages by the time she was just five years old and by the age of nine she was jotting lyrics in her notepad wherever she went. At high school she had a little trouble fitting into established cliques turning to music as her escape. With no fewer than 4 piano teachers fighting a losing battle against the youngsters ADHD, Lynn had already gained enough confidence on the instrument on her own via trial and error: "It became a habit that anytime I felt upset or mad about something that happened to me I would just put it in a song" Aged just 18, the singer displays an enviable level of maturity on her 2nd single. “Rise High” was written and composed by Lynn with producer Yoad Nevo (who famously worked with Sia, Moby and Sophie Ellis Bextor to name but a few) at Nevo Sound Studios in London. The track Influenced by pop music from the 90’s, with a more up to date production, shifting between soft clean pop to rock elements, giving a more powerful messy feel to the song. Olivia Szulgowski, known as Olive, is an independent Australian born artist. Inspired by indie-pop, soul and motown, with a hint of old-skool R&B. Olive has embarked on her own original sound journey, with the essence of the late Amy Winehouse ‘Back to Black’ album, fused with modern-day indie-alt radio hits. “Join me for tea, some afternoon company; we’ll let our fortunes unfurl and talk about ‘Changing the World’”. A big statement from Olive’s debut track titled ‘Changing the World’, the track has a big message and indie-pop, old-soul big band vibe. Olive’s debut release is launching this International Earth Day, April 22, to coincide with global consciousness about environmental sustainability for our planet and for us, the humans living on it. Following shortly after the launch of the video, 'Changing the World’ will be relaunched on a worldwide platform by Ear Science Institute Australia, for their global campaign for International Noise Awareness Day, this April 27. Don’t be misled by the catchy hook, ‘Changing the World’ delivers a contemporary universal message about each of us doing our small but integral bit. No matter how small the hope, we each have within us the innocence of youth and hope that we can truly make a difference. This soulful message is powerfully portrayed in the head turning music video to be released on the same day. With a reputable team of music and film producers, musicians, directors and film crew alongside her, Olive has left no stone unturned with this debut production. The track, ‘Changing the World’, recorded by Dylan Ollivierre (The Money War) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, the Black Keys) is delivered to the world this Earth Day, April 22 2017. Upcoming Gigs 16th of April, Indi Bar, Rasta Blasta Festival, WA |
